My Story
2021
Graduated High School with a High School Diploma from Cabarrus Kannapolis Early College High School. I also graduated with my Associates in Arts from Rowan Cabarrus Community College.
2024
I went to UNC Charlotte right after high school to pursue my passion for photography. I wasn’t sure what type of photography I wanted to have so I tried many different types. I mainly focused on fine are photography. I exhibited my Senior Thesis work in the December 2024 BFA show, Windows. I Graduated the same year with my Bachelor of Fine Art with a Concentration in Photography at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
2025
I reached out to the UNCC Men’s Ice Hockey Cub team in January asking if I could come shoot their last few home games. They quickly responded and told me where games took place and at what times. I was a little nervous at first but it ended up being really fun! Getting to capturing the action and meeting a few of the people on their media team. When internship applications came around I applied for the photography position. While I waited on interviews and such, I contacted the UNCC Men’s Lacrosse Club team asking to come take photos during their home games. They quickly responded to all my questions, letting me know when and where games took place. When I got there I was a little nervous but that quickly subsided when I started taking pictures, getting into the action and enjoying it so much. After those two sports, with only a few games or each, I knew right then that I wanted to become a sports photographer.
I was contacted back for the photographer position on the hockey team and was hired as Head Media Intern in August. The 2025-2026 season was fun and challenging. I was not only the photographer but I was helping run social media, making graphics and managing other interns. I learned how to have a quick turn around time for my photos and any graphics I made. I was at just about every practice, every home game, and just about every away game that I could make it to. I put everything and more into the team and they appreciated it. The season was full of wins, losses and good times. I learned more about how the industry works, how to be in a lead position and I learned more about myself. It gave me even more confidence that I am truly on the right career path.
2026
As the 2025-2026 UNCC Men’s Ice Hockey season came to an end I was asked about coming back for the next season. I expressed that I had every intention of coming back. We had some discussions and as of March I was hired to be on staff as the Director of Media for the UNC Charlotte Men’s Ice Hockey Team. They were excited to have someone on staff to take care of all the things I had been taking care of the previous season. And I was excited to move up and to know that what I was doing didn’t go unnoticed or unappreciated. Everything I have done was not only because it was my job but because I truly love doing it. I am so grateful to have this job and this team!
